The event, held at the John Ioannides Auditorium in the Fresnel Building, showcased The Cyprus Institute’s crucial role as both the National Competence Center in High-Performance Computing (EuroCC2) and Coordinator of Cyprus’s European Digital Innovation Hub (DiGiNN). Dr. Panayiota Katsamba and Dr. Anixi Antonakoudi opened the event by introducing EuroCC2 and DiGiNN’s provision of services for advanced technology adoption in the public sector, followed by welcome remarks from The Cyprus Institute’s President Prof. Stavros Malas.

The morning session featured a series of expert presentations beginning with Prof. Constantine Dovrolis who discussed artificial intelligence’s practical applications for public administration in Cyprus. This was followed by comprehensive insights from Assoc. Prof. Giannis Koutsou on trends in High-Performance Computing, Assoc. Prof. Mihalis Nicolaou on recent developments in Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Leonidas Christodoulou on driving impact with data science in industry and public sector, and Prof. Vangelis Harmandaris on HPC and machine learning applications in materials science and technology.
