Title: How to Access EuroHPC JU Computational Resources for HPC/AI

In this session, we’ll explore the European-wide range of HPC and AI resources offered by the EuroHPC JU and how organizations can access them. EuroHPC JU provides computational resources for projects across a spectrum of needs, from benchmarking and software development to AI-driven data analysis and extreme-scale computing projects. We’ll guide attendees through the access process, including the different types of calls—each tailored to specific use cases and research demands. Participants will gain insights into eligibility, competitive application procedures, and key requirements for both academia and industry applicants.

Title: “OK, I Got Access, Now What?” – Introduction to Supercomputing Basics

This session provides a foundational overview of the supercomputing environment, guiding participants through key elements they’ll encounter after gaining access. Starting with supercomputing architecture, we’ll cover essential components—nodes, processors, memory, and storage—that enable powerful HPC and AI applications. Participants will learn about job scheduling using tools like SLURM, including job submission, monitoring, and prioritization. To optimize resource usage, we’ll introduce best practices for efficient job management.

TitleHands On: Accessing, Navigating, Running Jobs, and Launching your Jupyter Notebook

In this interactive session, participants will gain practical experience accessing and navigating a supercomputer. We’ll begin by guiding them through secure login and setup, followed by an introduction to the file system and module management. Participants will learn how to submit and monitor a basic job, gaining insight into effective job management and troubleshooting. Additionally, we’ll walk through the process of launching a Jupyter Notebook on the supercomputer’s GPU nodes, enabling a powerful interface for HPC and AI applications. At the end of the session users will be equipped with essential skills for working confidently on supercomputing systems.
